Springtime Floral Doily

While waiting on a fresh baby to arrive so I can size 1 project and waiting on smaller hooks for the sweater, I have finally been working on my floral 3-D motif doily.  I have all the motifs done now.

(When these pics were taken, I didn't have quite
enough daffodils made.  But they're done now.)

So now all I have to do is iron/block the doily

Then sew on the roses

And the daffodils

And the flowerets

And the butterflies (which also need their bodies and antennas)

And I will be done!

It will look a like this except for a couple
more daffodils and butterflies with
some black bodies and antennae.

This doily pattern is from my book,
Vintage Floral Doilies

  1. I have this book but haven't made this one yet. Have you tried fabric glue instead of sewing? I can't stand to sew on flowers and the glue works great.
