Well, Friends, I haven't picked up a crochet hook in well over a month. First, my Daddy passed away. Then, homeschool started up, 2 fourth graders and 2 eighth graders. My brain is on overload trying to organize and fit in all both sets of boys need for this year. It is also a 'little' fried from switching back and forth constantly between the mentality of these 2 separate levels. (Really, I've been so overwhelmed that I haven't even WANTED to crochet.)
I am hopeful that we are on our way toward settling into a workable system and that I will again be able to do something besides teaching and planning to teach and keeping the home front running somewhat (I can't really add smoothly to that yet).
I have been peaking a bit at what my other blogging friends are working on. That's always fun! But even this I do not have time to do much of.
Thanks for your patience in this busy season. I will be crafting again soon, no doubt. I do have 2 sewing projects I am wanting to get to and will share those with you some time soon.
With Warmest Regards,
MamaLezlie

Mock Converse
I love these little mock converse tennis shoes
These have to be my favorite bootie pattern.
(Another Kay Meadors creation.)
I've made them for several fresh babies.
Here they are in Sage and Black:
These were for my nephew, Titus.
Many oooohhhhsss and aaaaahhhhhhs
in my heart over these!!!

Sweet Booties for Ella
Well, Friends, there is another fresh baby
at church and I'm so glad I had a pair
of booties stashed away, because
teaching school hasn't left any
time to create new ones.
I try to make up several pairs
when I am having a
unusually slow time.
And my stash is just about
GONE.
Here are the sweet booties:

My Daddy and Me
My handsome daddy as a teen.
Daddy holding me.
Daddy giving me a horsey ride.
Me in my Daddy's boots.
Me pretending to play my Daddy's COOL guitar.
At my Great-Grandma's house when
I was a teen.
After I graduated.
Still holding me, at 21!
Singing, Thy Word is a Lamp unto my Feet
by Amy Grant at my maternal
Grandmother's birthday party.
Still holding me, last November, when I was 40.
(I asked him if he was glad that I don't
weigh 250 pounds now that I'm grown.)
At my house, celebrating
his last birthday, 70 years.
I love him.
I miss him.
I didn't have the ability to appreciate
him enough while he was here.
I'm glad he is in heaven with my Jesus and
singing in the Amazing Choir!
